unfortunate south park page
stuff that helps me creatively. incomprehensible to the non-cursed
- my collection of 2010-era south park fanart. i like to look at fan content like this to get a more accurate picture of fanon tropes that existed at the time (i.e.: this versus word-of-mouth/what people remember as being common). it makes the tropes easier to spot in newer fancontent + i like to be mindful of it when i make my own stuff, especially because kyman is my favourite sp dynamic. plus i do just genuinely enjoy a lot of this art!

- not allowed to grow up/comic book time/floating timeline
- archie bunker -> eric cartman
- https://cheylouwho.tumblr.com/post/168458598801/south-park-the-affect-of-abuse-and-aces-on skimmed this but could b worth looking into?
- in south park, in-universe, parts of earth are seen as being worse than hell (season 4 ep 10)
- kyle superego/optimism/hyperfunctional, stan ego/pessimism. cartman id/antisocial? kenny's often a passive observer and hard to pin down in my brain (but i also think stan is passive most of the time)
- kenny loves lil b. tybg <3
- kyle & "the distance" by cake? i feel like he's often positioned as the best person/moral straightman in the show (fans definitely tend to position him that way!) it's made me see him as a fight-y character who wants to either destroy south park or fix it. this is why he is like gym hype song to me.
- ripped sprites from the cancelled south park gbc game :D
- grandiose manipulative cartman? .... i feel silly when i get the urge to analyze sp characters like real people. especially with cartman since his personality is part of the show's foundation. like it's stuck in the cement. it feels more productive to read the show through its makers' intentions + its real world impact: cartman was created to be the worst parts of people; his impact is very difficult to separate from the show's but the latter's is almost certainly a net negative! how would the makers of this show decide the actions cartman takes? if he acts similarly to real world people, is that intentional?
